According to TSN analyst Bob McKenzie, the Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Christian Ehrhoff to a PTO (professional tryout contract).
Ehrhoff is coming off a World Cup of Hockey 2016 appearance with the runner ups, Team Europe. The 34 year-old had the most points of blueliners on Team Europe (3 points).
Christian played 40 games with the Los Angeles Kings this past season, but was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in February in exchange for Rob Scuderi. In the 8 games with the Hawks, Ehrhoff had just two assists.
The play of Ehrhoff in the WCOH, must have caught the eye of Bruins’ management. Another factor might be the fact that Ehrhoff played on the same team as Zdeno Chara, meaning the two may have built some chemistry during the tournament.
