After only playing 9 minutes and 4 seconds in Tuesday’s game against the St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins defenseman and captain Zdeno Chara left the contest within a minute into the second frame and did not return.
Without jumping to further conclusions, this is not good news for the Bruins. Chara has played well with rookie Brandon Carlo, in 19 games, “Big Zee” has 1-5-6 totals along with a team-high +12 rating. Chara also leads the team in time-on-ice average (23:26) and Carlo following closely behind him, (22:29).
UPDATE: Head Coach Claude Julien announced that there is no further update on Chara.
